Commitment

Fellowship Gatherings

The 5280 Fellowship is designed to fit the lives of full-time working professionals. However, the time commitment is significant.

During these nine months, there are weekly, monthly and quarterly rhythms to the Fellowship experience:

  • Each week, Fellows meet for an hour and a half with a small cohort hosted by a local church. Cohorts meet on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday in the early evening. The application provides a place to indicate a preferred meeting night and geographic location. We make every effort to accommodate applicants’ schedules. In advance of these cohort meetings, Fellows will be assigned 20-30 pages of reading from classic works and contemporary thinkers. Cohort sessions center on discussing the reading, personal and professional development, and prayer.
  • One weekend each month, Fellows from all cohorts will gather together for a Saturday teaching session or a weekend retreat. The five Saturday sessions will take place from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Denver-Boulder area and offer in-depth teaching by 5280 Fellowship staff and/or senior leaders from the city. Three retreats provide longer periods of uninterrupted time for personal formation, practicing the spiritual disciplines, and connecting with other Fellows.
  • In addition to these regularly scheduled gatherings, Fellows will attend four (out of 12) “Community & Culture Gatherings” to interact with senior leaders from across the metro area with a small group of other Fellows. These take place in the early evening on location at the senior leader’s place of work, allowing for a show-and-tell style of learning.
